The Village of Escaya is the newest village in the 22,899-acre Otay Ranch, one of the largest and most successful master-planned communities in the United States.
HomeFed Corporation, the master developer, has completed planning and secured all entitlements for the Village of Escaya. Approximately 4,000 people attended the grand opening of the community in summer 2017. The first homes will be occupied in December 2017.

The 450-acre community is approximately 15 miles southeast of downtown San Diego in a rapidly growing suburban area near regional shopping, entertainment, outdoor recreation, and employments centers.
The Village of Escaya has been designed as a traditional walkable village. The heart of the village is a lively 30,000-square-foot town center, a generously amenitized park, elementary school and resort-style swim club for residents. Paseos and trails will link residents to Chula Vista’s extensive trail system and the future 11,375-acre Otay Ranch Preserve, the largest urban open space preserve in the San Diego region.

The Village of Escaya is planned to include 992 for-sale single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums built by three nationally acclaimed homebuilders, Brookfield Residential, CalAtlantic Homes and Shea Homes. These builders and their architectural teams collaborated with HomeFed on the design of homes in Escaya, resulting in cutting-edge architecture that is uniquely suited to the lifestyle of this vibrant village. Nine new home neighborhoods will feature a variety of floorplans and styles for a broad range of buyers, including singles, families with children, multi-generational households, empty nesters and retirees.
Rather than separate the homes by each builder into separate neighborhoods or districts, many of the homes in the Village of Escaya are being intermixed on the same street, giving the community a near-custom feel. And, with 81 different architectural elevations, it’s unlikely that a homeowner will find another home on their street that resembles their home.
Plans also call for 273 stylish apartments with abundant amenities and more than 380,000 square feet of office and flex space for businesses and start-ups.
