Even before the management of Leucadia National Corporation created HomeFed Corporation, Leucadia National was active in San Diego County real estate.
Leucadia National acquired One Harbor Drive from the Resolution Trust Corporation in 1994, two years after the Downtown high-rise project was completed, repositioned the property and renamed it The Harbor Club. The Harbor Club consists of two 41-story residential towers with 201 condominiums located in Downtown San Diego’s Marina District. Condos on upper floors feature breathtaking views in all directions. The Harbor Club is also home to Morton’s The Steakhouse.
Leucadia’s Harbor Club team included a number of the people who would form the original HomeFed Corporation management team and continue with HomeFed to this day.
Within four years, Leucadia had sold all 201 condos that range from one-bedroom units to full-floor penthouses. The Harbor Club remains one of the most prestigious residential towers in Downtown San Diego and is home to many prominent San Diegans. Prices currently range from approximately $700,000 to $6 million.
